Time For A Re-Shell Then.......

Recommended Posts

allye

Well that lasted long, drive this road every day and it caught me out. Tail went very light, greasy roads and as they say, the rest is history.

Car still drives which is good, got my eye on a tidy little 5dr for s sleeper re-shell

That will teach me! At the end of the day it comes down to going to quick over a crest so lesson learnt.

Wow nasty. Hope your alright! You came a fairway down that bank. Luckily there was a field to run into. Hopefully you can reshell easily with nothing major damaged!

the o/s wing panel area (where the jack bolts to) is bent really bad, would cost a good few hundred to straighten it, new wings etc, when the chassis could still be bent. Not worth it! :(

I'll get some better photos Saturday, although I may be picking up the new 205 then!

I wouldn't worry if that bit is bent, it usually rotten on 205's!

this was fixable.

:(

Bad news after all the hard work that you had put in, but at least you're fundementally OK - cars can be replaced, people can't and all that. I'm assuming that there were no other vehicles involved?

My usual point about getting the car back in your possession ASAP stands of course.

If you do reshell, give me a shout and I'd be happy to pop down and give you a hand.

Holly crap mate! Was looking forward to meeting up with you in Weymouth, is it really that bad? I have a scrap 5 door down here you could have the pannels off if it if it's repairable.

Wow Allye! thats a massive shame, but at least you are ok!

5 door sleeper? sounds like a good idea but i think 5 door 205's look awful. would put the willies up a few people though!

Happens to the best of us mate, I stuffed my Xs not long after I finished building it so I know how you feel.

As everyone else says, at least you're ok, looking at that bank you could have easily went into a roll and it would have been a different story!

Blimey - not good, but at least you are okay!

Funnily enough I made my S2000 fall off a road that I drive every day to work.

Good luck sorting it out!! You'll still probably beat me to getting my miami back on the road!

Think I beat you on the distance from road to landing point though! ;)

Will need to dig out a photo....!!

why not buy a white 3 door base model and swap everything over and make a fake rallye?

Glad you're ok mate. Cars can be fixed etc but yours was mint - said this to Anthony only the other weekend. Sleeper's all well & good but recreating the Rallye FTW IMO. Good luck.

Put it all into a Partner combi. It's practical does as a van as well as able to carry 5 people, a bit more modern and leave it standard looking!! xsara Picasso rear disc axle for disc brakes all round. I have so much fun in my partner :).

5dr sleeper is certainly on the cards, if I win it I'll be picking it up Saturday and start pulling them both apart. I've got 4weeks to swop it all over :o

Cheers for all the comments! I'll be at pugfest no matter what even if I take the 309, as I said though the o/s wing is nicely rippled and will cost too much to repair when I can reshell it for a couple hundred. End of an era for me I've had it 3years and I'm only 21 so slightly attached to it  If I could find a tidy van ASAP I would reshell into that!

Time for a new build thread......
