Replacing Sills (With Cti Ones)

I've always thought sills on 205 GTI's were a little out of proportion with the rest of the car

(and also making the car look tall) and while pretty much all the sideskirts make it a bit OTT,

I reckon that CTI's sills look just about perfect.

 

Since I will need to tackle some rust in my sills and joints, I am wondering if it would be

possible to cut off complete sills from both cars and use the CTI sills on the GTI? I know

they are different due to strengthening as they sport no roof obviously, but are they just

covering some "rails" or do sills act as strengthening themselves?

 

Either way, does anyone have an idea if they would meet the rest of the GTI shell fine?
