Anybody Use An Alpine Ida X200 Head Unit?

Recommended Posts

I decided to bite the bullet and go all mp3 in the car whilst recently updating speakers and such. I got myself an alpine ida x200 for a good price, and its a great unit, but I have a slight niggle.

Every time you turn it on, it 'banks' everything on the usb stick, so you can scroll through all the tracks on the screen.

makes sense, I thought, untill I realised it was taking forever!! It can take me my journey from my house to work and still not be finnished.

This kinda defeats the object of the thing in the first place!

After trawling a few forums ive found out a few things

- only seems to be the x200 that does it

- is much worse if you have any non music files on the usb stick

- its optimised for 8gb (I originally had 32gb)

- have less than 99files per folder

-no clear answer on how to sort it!

anybody with any experience?

Ive changed to an 8gb stick, checked theres no files other than music, and checked the folder but its still taking bloody ages!
