Spot Light Brackets

Recommended Posts

allanallen

Morning, I need to mount some 8" spots on my 205 and would like to know how you've done yours. I've not looked at it yet but I'm guessing most will mount off the two forward facing bumper brackets.

If anyone's got any pictures or even a link to some you can buy I'd be very grateful.

Cheers, Allan

The way I've seen it done, remove the square head bolts that go through the bumper from the front to the two bumper brackets, then bolt through some kind of angle iron monstrosity sandwiching the bumper and picking up on those brackets.

Bonus being you can remove them and put it back as it was.

I take it you've sourced some lights?

Does that not damage the bumper having it sandwiched between 2 lumps of metal?

Not got any lamps yet, autosport show was the biggest heap of s*it I've been to for a while! Very disappointing. I'm off to a 4x4 place tommorow so hopefully sort something, otherwise I'll next day some off eBay.

Make some shaped spacer washers to sit into the bumper recess so it doesn't mark the bumper with them fitted.

demon tweaks do some for around £20, but they can easily be made yourself with some angle iron as stated above for alot cheaper.

I made some which went on the bolts behind the bumper and came up through the gap between it and the headlight, meant i could remove them and leave no trace, i'll see if i can findthe pictures.

That's more like what I'm thinking Dave, pics would be good.

I would also be interested in this.... The way I've seen it done is a t shape piece, bolt through the leg of the T and then a bolt through the top. I would advise steady bars

Same as mine too and mounted the same way. I may be wrong but I think they came from Peter Lloyd Rallying and originally designed for mk2 Escorts. ;)

This was the home made effort that was on the 205 I bought a couple of years ago.

The car is long gone but the brackets and spots are still sitting in the garage.
