Heater Directional Control Broken

Recommended Posts

johnnyboy666

the directional control for my heater stopped working a little while ago and I think its time I sorted it out. Luckily its constantly on the windscreen so de-misting isnt a problem.

question is, how does it work? does the knob activate some kind of lever, with a complicated system of winches and pulleys? Or is it witchcraft?

any help in this area would be appreciated, I have plenty of spares in a shell, so swapping bits isnt a problem, i just need to know what to swap/test!

cheers

John

It is operated via bowden cables.

You really have to see it yourself.

Could be that one of the fixings have snapped or a lever is broken.

I had one of the little gears jumped a few tooths - during my trial to refit my dash - and that made the direction control unusable.

Worst thing is that lots of the plastic bits are very brittle - so be careful and have lots of patience.
