Miami Blue 205 1.6 Gti

hello my name is ash and ive just bought a miami blue 205 gti 1.6, its got an 1.9mi16 engin with twin 40 carbs, the bottome end is abit nackerd but my mate has a 2.0l mi16 witch has ported and polished head with piper cams so i bought that off him and il hopefully have the old engine out this weekend and new engine in this weekend maybe next weekend

plans are

 

fit new cammed engine

get the carbs set up for the new engine

new wheels as i think 16" are to big for a 205

309 wishbones and shafts, need to find out if i need 1.9 hubs to run the 309 shafts?

new drivers side front wing as the paint has come off the one on the car,

think that is about it for now

well i picked up my new engine 2 days ago and started striping down my old engine ready to be taken out, will get some pics up over the weekend as il be swaping the engines over

started striping the 205 down today only got one pic as it started raining, shud hopefully havr the old engine out tomrrow and new engine back in tomrrow if we have time if not it will be going back in on sunday

has it had a rear end shunt? its got a base model tailgate on it. yes you will need 1.9 hubs if its still got the 1.6 hubs on it, but you might get away with just sticking the 309 wishbones on it using the 1.6 shafts.

i quite like the body colour mirrors, might do that to mine.

no it hasnt had a rear end smack but i did notice that it wasnt a gti boot but ive got a miami blue gti boot off my mates gti and its got drums on the back

well i started to strip the old girl down at about 12pm got the engine out and new one back in by 4.30pm heres a few pics the engine bay has no rust adn it quite cleen

new engine on the left old on the right, new engines needs abit if tideing up but will do for now and the new engine has a mocal oil cooler aswell

hopefully have the shafts, rad, hoses and inlet back on tomro and then see if she runs
