What's The Best Way?

Recommended Posts

Hi fellas

I've done a search but not found what I was looking for. I want to remove the front bumper to start work on the front of the pug. The fixings on the inside of the arch are solid and won't move. Will I have to resort to cutting?

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

Edd.

Usually by getting a good fitting 6 point socket you can shear the fixings which will allow you to get it to pieces. Be careful that the rectangular piece that sits in the bumper recess doesn't tear a hole in the side of the bumper.

Cheers for the reply Tom. I don't seem to have enough of it to get a good purchase. Is it viable to cut it off?

i had to get some mole grips on mine and shear them off that way.

proper pita when they are rusted solid, as tom said tho be carfull of the flat end twisting and buggering the bumper.

cutting it off will work if you can a get a grinder on it?

Started drilling out from the outside with a 5mm bit. Going to do it this way using ever increasing bits. Seems the easiest way to me...thanks again for all the replies fellas..

Drilled them out in the end. I took my time so as not to damage the bumper and then notice quite a few marks and such so I don't think I'l be using it

www.nicedeals.co.uk anyone bought a bumpers off these? seem pretty cheap.

Cheers

just ordered a front bumper so I'll let you know what the quality is like. I've had one from Autofive in the past and that was okay.

Fingers crossed
