What Other Cars Do You Own?

Bit bored so I thought I'd be a bit nosey.

 

We all obviously love the 205 but I'm wondering what other cars/projects we all own and for what purpose we use them. Feel free to post up some photos if you have some as we all love a good piccy.

 

My current cars not including the 205's are-

 

R reg 406 V6 coupe in which is used as the family car. I have to say these really are pretty impressive cars for their size.

 

 

R reg 106 GTi which I've owned for over 10 years. It's under going a slow semi restoration at the moment. It's part of the family now and I would probably never sell it

 

 

And a 1978 Mini 1275GT. This is my new project now that my 205 turbo is on the road. It needs a load of welding and a respray so will probably end up being another long term project.

Here's my daily drive

 

 

This was taken at Tebay Services (North) last December the day I picked it up from Leeds. I looked odd appearing at Leeds VW with an overnight bag, sleeping bag and a shovel! Anyway, it proved quite decent in the snow

 

Realised I have very few photos of this one - Been too busy this year with house restoration, new baby, trips to refuel the R32, baby, refuel R32, House, etc......

 

It's not got a huge amount of kit, but does have charcoal coloured bits of cow, winter pack (keeps your bottom warm), climate control & a sunroof - someone spec'd this for everything a day of British weather can fling at your.

 

Got a right telling off. She who must be obeyed demanded that I should buy a 5 door car not the Clio 200 I actually wanted - family on the way blah, blah, blah..... So, this was my retaliation purchase*, as it obviously had 5 doors. Jobs' a good'un, until she discovered the engine capacity. It is often now related to her friends as having a "3 point stupid, size engine" Her only criteria was number of doors, so really I think it was an over reaction. Anyway who puts the juice in it and pays the tax? Yeah, and where does she think all these £5 Morrisons vouchers come from?

 

*In a Clarkson kind of way.

 

Her Golf (of which I don't have a photo) is a Mk6 GT 2.0Tdi with 5 doors - I mean without 5 doors, where would we be? It's actually quite frugal, so I treat that as an 'offsetting' thing, carbon credits if you will, for my wallet. In fairness it's a nice car & a decent enough drive.

Well currently alongside my CTI and GTI I have a 1.2 corsa, which gives me 45-50mpg, faultless apart from possibly needing a new wheelbaring. however, to get it to that stage, it cost a fortune!

 

I am thinking about getting rid of the corsa and getting a discovery for the winter, moreso for the fun 'detours' which can be found around south wales Only problem is cheapest insurance i can find is £900

 

Good news though, with a LSD and a good set of winter tyres, and the doubtful purchase of the discovery, my 205 gti is likely to be my winter vehicle! lol might invest in a cage just incase

I used to own a 60 plate Audi A6 2.0TDI S-Line 170 until an unexpected separtion just over fours months ago. I've replaced it with a BMW E46 330i M Sport 2002 model with 60,000miles on the clock.

 

I've loved every minute of owning a 91 H plate 205 GTI 1.9 which I've owned since March of this year. It will be sorned tomorrow for the winter and I will truely miss it as it so much fun.

 

I quite fancy getting a VW Corrado at some point if the funds are available. It's going to be hard work being single and pay for a mortgage and bills. I also have a 3 year old daughter who will stay with me between 3 to 4 nights a week.

Got so close to getting her on the road in the spring but other things got in the way. Looking forward to getting stuck back into working on her again once the pug is back on 4 wheels. Both cars require me to buy and learn how to use a welder

 

Both of them are rather interesting driving experiences unlike the family Xsara Picasso, but touch wood that's been fantastically reliable for the last 5 years!

i can be seen driving this:

 

 

its the 160 vvc so is pretty rapid, but i must stress this is the wifes car and now has a big dent down one side.

 

the family car is a 306 meridian 1.4 ph3 in moonstone, its cr*p but goes for a while on a tank of fuel.

 

no pics tho im afraid

 

plan to take the mgtf off the road when the 205 is done and fix the few little issues it has

I have a rule that I stick to that doesn't let me own any more than 4 of the same car

My daily drive is a 1999 TD5 Auto Discovery, not particularly cheap to run around in but ticks all the other boxes (luxury, auto, and towing). Have access to the wifes 2004 2.9 TD Auto Sedonna, done about 115k, had a recon box at 80K, with loads of dings worth buxxer all, but great in any other way and could not recommend enough. 309 Goodwood just to make the drive look pretty, not moved in 18 months . 205 in the garage.

Thanks. Trust me though, that's a very flattering picture... it's a real mess! The previous owner put a recon engine in it but never got it running right and just abandoned it in his garden for three years.

Beautiful. I'd love a Camper to go away for weekends in with the Mrs and our baby daughter. Unfortunately for me the prices start quite far out of my price range

 

Do you think the old skool VW campers that are being made now will ever drop right down in price for a second hand one, or will they stay fetching proper money because of what they are?
