Did a bit more last night, got the rusty inner wing sorted where the side light goes.

Very poor quality pic but its all I have of how it looked before, more of what you see thats left is underseal.

New light bezel on

And one cut off

Can't believe the difference in this side, it's like new compared to other side, You think they'd look equally rusty.

Both light bezels on and ready for paint :)

And a good couple coats of primer

I picked up a spot weld drive bit from machine mart today, had a little go and was so impressed. So need to remove oil seat mounts next and sort some new ones. Custom cages do a kit for £70 so might order couple from there. Also want my cage from here too so will need to sort cage mount soon too.

That's all for now, will be back with more soon :)

Thanks.

Just can't wait to get it useable even if its not totally finished, don't want to rush it at the same time though.

It's great to see so many threads where people are restoring the cars now rather than scraping!

Evening all

I’m back

I’m so happy to be finally getting round to posting this back up on the forum.

Me and my dad started a new project a couple of years back which started very slow however we’ve managed to get stuck in and make some real progress this year. We started by making our own rotisserie jig for the project which is a classic mini, it’s quite an interesting project as we’re converting a Mk4 shell into a Mk1 which requires quite a lot of work, however this has spurred me on to also revisit my 205 project. The plan is to use the rotisserie jig from the mini that we built once we’re done with it on the mini project which should be soon, here is one of the videos of us completing part of the jig to give you an idea, a bit of adapting will be required obviously.

Cheers
Mark.

Fantastic mate, tell your Dad the same, and thanks for uploading the video.

All the best,

O.T.
