Sensor Testing

Anyone got experience on how to test a MAP & Lambda sensor using a multimeter?

Got a few niggles on the 306 and want to check these out.

Wouldnt the ECU have a paddy about one of the sensors going down?

The first things to check is that the sensors have power.

I tested a narrowband lambda sensor on my old Mazda using a multimeter. Depending on the type eg number wire there are a couple things to try. If its got a heater circuit you can test this for open circuit. For the actual signal from the sensor I just piggy backed the signal wire on warm idle and checked the voltage. At warm idle you should have a reading of 0.7 volts I believe, eg a lambda of 1.

I guess you could do similar with the map sensor.
