Got to work this morning turned the car off, took the key out and headunit fascia. All off a sudden it sounds like its going to blow up.

Only way I could stop it was by putting the fascia back in and turn the ignition on. Weird!

Only thing I've done is changed the rear speakers yesterday, as the old ones were shot to pieces. But these are oe speakers and still had the oe yellow plug. So it couldn't of shorted out imo.

Any suggestions? Or is it time for a new headunit? This one keeps cutting out now and again.

Think ive found out what it was, heater matrix leaking :(

Stereos f***ed now, turns on and starts to play music but no sound.

Displays AF-OFF AF-ON and then no sound.

Left it to dry and see what it does, the headunits done well though. It's been in eight of my cars and the high speed crash in my first gti :o
