Dave just sent me a pic of the pulley:

That pulley has definitely been buggered with. I have one in the shed I can take a pic of tomorrow.

 

Just a tip, the woodruff key should be pointing towards the bolt which is directly 90' to the left of the crank (looking at the block upright)

Not very clear in the picture but mine has an extra hole, which one should i use to lock the crank?

use the one that's by the locking lug in daviewonders picture, i.e the only one that lines up properly and fits nicely on the timing pin, also as mentioned the woodruff key points at the left hand bolt on the lower timing cover.

Timed it up again tonight and there still seems to be a slight misfire, any ideas?

 

ive got a stack of other issues to sort yet though :(
