Emerald Ecu

Recommended Posts

p1234

I have an Emerald K3 ecu,

It was bought mapped and all with throttle bodies on here,

I went to get it re mapped today and my mapper had problems accessing the ecu,

The program kept switching between maps 1 2 and 3 and would not let him access it.

Its not locked, when reading the maps it loaded to 99% and stopped,

Anyone any ideas on this?

Have you tried contacting the person who mapped it previously or Dave Walker?

Are you 100% sure the maps are not locked?

I have no idea but I guess there must be such a facility as a map is considered the intellectual property of the mapper (in Ecutek at least this is what happens in order to protect their mappers).

I tried downloading the manual but it doesn't open, can someone who has it send it to me?

Cheers

Do you have a laptop with a serial port or are you using a USB to serial converter?

USB to serial converters can sometime cause communication problems.

It is difficul to find laptops with serial ports these days so worth holding on to them if you can find any!

I've had a similar problem in the past, try re-installing the Emerald software on your laptop, I am fairly sure this is how I sorted it out.
