205 Ncap Style Crash Test

Hi All

 

Slightly odd posting, but I am needed to know if there has ever been any frontal NCAP style crash test to a car (ideally a 205) fitted with a full roll cage...

 

Same sort of test as:

 

 

I am creating a posting on my site about the benefits of roll cages, and how they can make a 205 safer than the very safest of moden cars (in the right situation)....

 

If there is no specific video or reporting, it would be interesting to hear how you all think an "unsafe" car (by moden standards), like the 205 would fair in a crash test fitted with a cage.....

I am looking for a typical NCAP style frontal crash - the 205 one I posted appeared to have no engine in! and it was going into a lamp post

I very much doubt you would find a video. Try speaking to Safety Devices or try looking for FIA regulations as to what spec a cage needs to be and for what application.

 

For examples, look at Daza4's crash and see why a cage is beneficial.

I would imagine there are dozens of 205 race crashes to illustrate the point although you won't get super slow motion side on camera angles I doubt!

 

Iirc safety devices used to use a photo of a 309 rally car on it's roof in their promo material
