205 1.6 Gti Gearbox Oil Capacity

Hello!

 

How much oil go into 1.6 205 gti gearbox? (BE1 i think, reverse forward). Where is the filler cap? i've heard ,that it must be somewhwre above the GB, but i havent found it.i filled it up from the side. 2litres, until the oil started to leak out the hole. was that correct?

Yes, 2 litres for both the BE1 and BE3 boxes.

capacity is 2 litres of 75w80, but i usually put about 1.8 litres in

 

being a be1, you can fill through where the reverse cable sits in the top of the box

 

yo may have a choice of level plugs. one will be on the end of the gearbox housing and the other could be under the end of the clutch cable adjustment screw
