I've slept in my old 1.6 GTI after a few beers, and can honestly say I had a dam good nights sleep. iirc XEs do not have head rests I'm not so sure I would have been able to same the same in one of those though.

Would it not look a lot neater to have the holes for the rear beam mount cut out and used a rubber bung to fill it in with? Would look a lot neater?

Slept in my old ax once or twice.... seats were so comfy!!! Best seats i have had for that...... even the back seats.. ....

 

Carpet looks smart gotta to replace the lining in mine i know that much...

iirc XEs do not have head rests I'm not so sure I would have been able to same the same in one of those though.
