Phase 2 Without Catalic Converter?

hi,

is it possible to buy a phase two that comes without the catalic converter standard? i no there is a phase 1.5 technically speaking. but i would like to buy a phase 2 with the upgraded rear clusters, black dash/interior/seats etc. what year did the catalic converter become standard??

Most Phase 2 cars in the UK do not have a catalyst fitted.

 

It was an option on 1.9 GTi models from 1990 to 1992, and then catalyst's became standard from 1992/K onwards

 

All 1.6 GTi's are non-cat.

at the end of the day if you're realy that bothered just do an engine swap with an earlier engine from a 1.9, there are many around after all the MI16/GTI6 conversions. but as anthony said there are very few about in the UK.
