if it halves my fuel bills a month its worth it. I use the time to de-stress from the daily grind. Considering I used to spend 6 hours a day in rush hour traffic when I worked freelance a 30 minute journey each way is nothing...

Change the air in your tyres! That will get your mpg up! Fresh air is best, however I have also heard that methane rich fart gas has been known to work wonders :D

plywood would be too heavy no?

planes were constructed from ply... perhaps not marine ply, but ply none the less.. possibly balsa ply with other stuff.

ply comes in 6mm... which is fairly thin

DIY undertray for front with efficency results

very interesting article on the breakdown of drag for different bits of the car

Although this probably won't make any difference, taping over the gaps in the body panels with white electrical tape.. is what glider pilots use to decrease drag, also keep it clean, clean surfaces flow better than dirty ones ones in laminar flow i believe.

1/4" ply undertray is pretty lightweight TBH.

Both these cars sports one as well as a rear diffuser!
