24seven 104 Posted April 26, 2010 Bit random maybe, but does anyone know where I can find the front/rear unsprung masses of a Van Diemen RF96 formula ford car?
welshpug 1,623 Posted April 26, 2010 ask Edcherry possibly, I know he has worked on them with his college at Coombe.
swordfish210 20 Posted April 26, 2010 The only Van Diemen we've had at Collge is an 01, evn still i don't think we ever measured the unsprung mass, just the corner weights.
24seven 104 Posted April 26, 2010 Turns out it's not an RF96, or at least if it is it's been converted from mono to twin shock at the front. I've got some figures from another guy at the uni who I think knew them from past experience anyway. Te chassis we've been working on is missing quite a lot, it's got a gearbox, brakes and some drivetrain in it but no bodywork/engine/tank so getting a grid weight for it was always going to be a guess, in the end I approximated it using figures from an actual RF96 complete listed for sale online. Cheers tho folks.
