Got geared up to fix a leaking sump gasket.

Slapped some RTV on the new gasket so it could go off a little before fitting

Got car on stands

Found out it wasnt the gasket but a split oil pipe + driveshaft oil seals + Box drain plug + catch tank drain plug

De-greased the underside

Dropped car down

Threw now unusable new gasket in bin

Went inside with the hump and got pipe part number from service box

Beat up the missus

shagged the cat

Started machine polishing the astra

Got bored of doing it after bonnet + wings

'I will just do the wing mirror covers before I stop'

Melted the wanky cheap ass bodgey paint job on one

Stamped on it

Went back in with the hump

Shagged the missus

beat up the cat

:)

All in all nowhere near as productive as your day!

I have been at work from 11-4

Went to the shops (beer/fags)

Cooked tea, ate it.

Bathed and bedded the two sprogs.

Removed drivers side drive shaft, stripped it, new boots and put it back together and re-installed it.

Came back in.

Fed the cats.

Ignored the Mrs.

Good work Nat, I am away in London for the weekend so spent the grumpy about my 205, do I fix mine, reshell or buy another. I am not good company at the mo.

Seeing your 205 on the road would cheer me up.

I too had a successful 205 based day.

Got up

Went to work (on a Sunday damnit)

Launched a couple of boats

Finished off wiring in the boot battery conversion and tidied up the wires

Started car to check that nothing caught fire

Smiled and had a brew

Went for a spin and got some strange looks from all the tourists

Put car back in shed, checked for leaks and tightened a few nuts and bolts...just for fun

Smiled and had a brew....with biscuits as well

Took car home

pottered around in the garden after work

Entertained the new puppy for a couple of hours (I put on a performance of Miss Saigon)

Ate dinner

Went to bed

The sun shined here as well which I'm pretty sure makes all the difference because it is pissing it down today and I can't get motivated to do anything.

A successful 205 day should go along the lines of

find 205 (usually on drive - if not then panic)

Door opened (without falling off)

key fits ignition (without snapping)

car starts (without issues)

car idles (thats a first)

car drives (without making a single clunk)

car stops (when you want it to, not just randomly)

hand brake on (working, not just for show!)

step out of car (with life intact and few/no bruises)

look back on last part of your life (and be thankful!)

Well done, so you didn't have any lunch then ?

I would have been starving by 2pm and if only i could do that much without something making it harder, ie wrong tool, missing parts or just things being stubborn as usual but thats what you get fixing older cars i suppose. I spend too much time making sure the jobs perfect, thats also my problem because if a jobs worth doing its worth doing well.
