No Output From Tacho

I was going to fit the tacho wire today after stripping the rev counter down, now it seems I have no voltage from orange

wire.I have been to the more settings and down to tacho output pin and that reads x5 (js3) and normal speed.

 

Is there something that I have missed or do I have more problems?

What ecu / management system are you asking about?

the tacho output is a switched ground output, so you wont measure a voltage on it, you need to supply it a voltage to switch to ground.

 

so i will not get a signal as i do not have voltage yet.DOH
