205 1.1 Single Point Injection Eml

Recommended Posts

Dave G

Have been getting a flat spot on my daily hack and a light stutter every now and then the car is a 205 1.1 single point injection on a k reg.

I found a diy fault code site but it only tells you how to find the fault code number using an earth and counting the slow and fast flashes.

Does anyone know what the fault code 44 relates to sensor wise?

code 44 relates to the knock sensor, either a wiring fault or a faulty sensor itself.

Is it posible for an engine (tu1m with bosch injection ) to have troble starting or not start at all because of a faulty knock sensor? Where is the knock sensor located on the 1.1i?

possible but more than likely a crank sensor located on the front of the gearbox wouldbe the cause of poor starting providing your plugs are in a servcable condition and yur fuel preassure delivery is as it should (the crank sesnor gives the command to spark as the pug stuff dosnt batch fire on start up like som cars. I have consulted numberous autoelectrical specialists on knock sesnors as i have had an issue on an s1 rallye and a knock sensor(also known as a pinking sensor) and a fault can be store from a single knock.

Check timing

plug

lads

coilpack

air leaks

fuel delivery

all of the above with cause a knock.

The sesnor can be found at the back of the block under the inlet manifold, its held in with a single 13mm bolt, be careful not to catch the starter with the tool you use to remove the bolt as i bridged the live to th motor for a split second with the spanner I was using but luckily it was out of gear but it got my attention, lol.

easiest to lave the plg attached on it until you hav the bolt out as it will sav it dropping on the floor. but bolt it bck up first on refitting the nw item as it wil spin when the bolt goes tight andcould damage the loom
