1.6 Xu5ja Ngk Spark Plugs

Recommended Posts

Evening all - this should be an easy one; Read a lot of posts re. spark plugs, and whilst I can't seem to get Bosch anymore, the weapon of choice appears to be NGK.

As a direct replacement the NGK site is all tricksy when cross referencing Champion and Bosch to NGK, giving different results . . .

So, is it answer A;

BCPRE6

or answer B;

BCP7ES

Opinions seem to differ - I assume there a difference in the temp range . . . votes will be counted around midnight and the judges decision is final, Votes made after midnight will not be counted, although you may be charged. <_<

Thanks guys.

BCP6ES for the 1.6 GTI & BCP7ES for the 1.9 GTI.

Thats what I've always used anyway & yes there is a diffrent temp rating between the two.

Graham.

Hi Graham - thanks for the reply.

I went out and checked last night, and I'm currently running the correct 6's . . . . I also noticed that taking them straight out of the box and putting them in doesn't make for ideal running: the gap was only about 0.65, not the specified 0.8 :lol: oops.

Seems to run a whole load better with the correct gap for some reason - can't imagine why it was stuttering ?!

Thanks again.
