Heard about the chap whos been fined £60 for blowing his nose while he was driving. He was in a traffic jam at the time and this copper whose mates nicknamed him pc shiny buttons saw him blow his nose so he fined him. Also this plod once fined some one for dropping a tenner. The guy with the nose wont pay the stupid fine so they are taking him to court. How come we now have so many jobs worths on the beat?. I read this story in the Daily Mail and could not stop laughing, what do you lot think.

Would the fine be more if he was picking his nose?

Would the fine be more if he was picking his nose?

Only if he wiped it on the steering wheel!.

Sad sign of the times.

I read another story of police incompetence recently - a drunk man was wondering around a main road, two officers arrived but couldn't deal with him as they 'hadn't been trained for that sort of thing'. The man was killed by a car..

The sad thing for us is, he was given a Fixed Penalty Notice for "not being in proper control of the vehicle" not for blowing his nose. Now he claims to have been stationary in traffic with the handbrake on, so how can he not be in proper control of the vehicle? It's down to the discretion of the officer. This means you may receive a FPN for any number of things if an officer "believes" you are not in proper control.

There was a case of someone charged with driving without due care and attention after sneezing and then causing an accident. Sneezing is quite a common cause of accidents, well I say accidents as that doesn's exist anymore, in our "must be a blame" culture they are now called "Road Traffic Collisions" RTC's and not RTA's as they used to be.

So other offences that may land you with a FPN,

Yawning,

Sneezing,

Hiccuping,

Blinking,

Wriggle bottom in seat to get comfy,

Reset trip counter,

Change radio stations,

Farting,

Pushing classes back up your nose,

Adjust seat belt,

Adjust rear view mirror,

Scratching,

Rubbing your eye or face,

Winding window up or down,

Bobbing head gently to music,

Tapping fingers on steering wheel,

Talking to the radio,

and so on....

I blame target culture. Country has gone crazy.
