Megatune Experts Please Help

Im having trouble getting into our megasquirt 1 v3, my laptop is communicating with the ecu as i can see the water temp value etc.

 

However it keeps popping up with a signature code error and is telling me i have 7 cylinders and 7 injectors, it also wont let me do anything

with regards to the map.

 

Could some one please give me a step by step on how to set megatune up to work in unison with our ecu as i think this maybe the problem.

this on your punto.what connection are you using i.e serial to usb

 

^^have a look on there mate you should find everything you need to know .about the connection to make 100 percent its ok

 

alot of the time the usb to serial port connectors can be s*ite but ive never had any problems with them got mine from maplin.

 

and if you get really stuck post on http://msextra.com/ the forum bit would be your best bet

 

 

allso are you using the right megatune for your firmware. download portchecker from diyautotune or extraefi this will check to see what firware you are using then when you open up megatune you can select what you are using i.e029y4

 

i think you can download a packige from diyautotune wich is the megatune configurator ,port checkeer ,megatune,firmware i would start with this set everything up ok

 

then go into your engine constants and make sure you have 4 injectors not 7 selceted then work from there

its not that bad mate just teething problems .is it the punto ? if so its half mapped so your not that far off and it runs.so download megalog veiwer and start datalogging and use the ve tuner in megalog as its brilliant .
