Peugeot 405 Mi16 Gear Linkage Ball Joint

Hello.

 

Ive just finished replacing the ball joints on the gear linkages, but noticed that there is loads of play in the ball and socket part of the gear linkage. This is making my gearbox feel really sloppy, this is annoying seeing as its just been fully refurbished!

 

Is there anywhere I can purchase a new one, or even some bushes for it?

 

It looks similar to this one below, the large ball.

you can buy a new arm with the ball on it and also the bushes from Peugeot

 

the bushes as it happens are the same as the ones used by the 205 lever, there are phosphor bronze versions available, though they cost rather more than 28p!

 

oparts numbers required I think are;

 

244973 CONTROL RETURN 31.92 GBP

 

217505 SHAFT SLEEVE 0.28 GBP (2x req)

 

240425 SPACER 2.83 GBP

I think I need a new arm aswell as it is worn, as you can see in my great diagram So do I order the ball and arm as seperate parts? Where do the bushes go?

ball is bonded to the arm, bushes go in the shaft of the arm.
