allye 530 3 Cars Posted December 13, 2009 My Rallye clock surround has a crack in it on the bottom right hand side, you can just see the crack in this picture, its get bigger and worse! I have another to replace it but how the hell do you get it off!? My haynes says there are 2 screws either side of the top line of warning lights, but that must be phase 1.5, I afraid of forcing any part of it and i am sure you will know it will snap! Thanks, Ali
Peetypug 5 Posted December 13, 2009 firstly you need to remove the center heater vents, the heater control panel, coin tray (if it has one) small triangular panel from above the coin tray then the screws that hold the panel that covers the steering column (2 or 4 screws i cant remember) iirc there are 5 screws that hold the dash on 1 on the right side of it 2 under the heater controls 1 where the coin tray is and one where the small triangular panel is hope that helps you out a bit

trogboy 17 Posted December 14, 2009 For info IIRC the one on the right is accessed through a hole in the plastic and doesn't screw all the way out. Just a couple of turns to stop it gripping the binnacle. What car did you get the replacement from? I sourced a GTI one only to find they aren't the same. mr_exe 1 Posted December 14, 2009 ^^I threw one of those away a bit back but a late model like a Mardi Gras, or CJ should yield what need.
