Rev Counter Help!

Recommended Posts

Guest johnsteele23

:)

Hi, I'm in need of help.

I have installed a 106 gti 16v engine into my 205 uk rallye.

Now I have changed the dash clocks to a Gti unit with oil temp etc but cannot get the rev counter to work??

Ive searched on here but to no avail, can anyone please help??

The rev counter on the old rallye dash worked fine with the 106gti 16v engine before??

Can someone please help?

assume you are running of a coil pack, what ignition system are you using?

Its the gti clocks that will be the issue iirc. There is a way of "tampering" with them to make them suitable or I just get a tacho converter from omex which you wire in and it does the trick (or make your own - see the link below). I had this with a ford coil pack and im sure the 106 one would be the same.

Edit: the link

Im sure this would work for a 106 coil pack (hopefully someone will confirm this) . The bit later in the link about adding to all four coil packs is for the gti6 setup

Spoke to spikey, a loom is in the post! ;)

problem solved I hope.

omex do a box of tricks and a signal booster but are £50 + p+p

2 signals coming from the engine and the dash only likes one.

thanks for your help.
