Last Rallye Ever Registerd?

Recommended Posts

backroadpug

Hi all I own a UK 1994 Lreg yellow 205 rallye it was registerd on the 06/08/1994. Im the lucky 4th owner.

Ive been into my 205s for years now and have never came across a Lreg rallye.

Was just wondering if any one knows of any others and if there is a way on finding out the last registerd rallye.

Also if there is any way to find out how much are left in yellow, as they must be getting scarce now.

Thanks Richard.

The white ones seem to be more common, although I've seen a few yellow ones about. As you know, most seem to be on K plates, unless registered late. There are quite a few rallye owners on here.

Hi! Mine is December 1992, so you may well have one of the last, crazy it was registered that late as the cat converter came in late 1992!

There were originally 250 Yellow and 500 White.

Cheers, Ali

We have a Yellow Rallye K reg '93, so not quite as new as yours. When you give the reg to insurance companies do they find the car as some dont as Rallyes were built until '92.

Thats what i thought never seen another Lreg would be good if it was one of the last.

It comes up on insurance and says on the v5 its a Rallye special. It came out of the factory with the full gti arch and door trim fitted and also has a dimma rear spoiler as standard. Not sure if it was just surplus parts left lying around as it was so late registerd.

Does any one elses v5 if they own a rallye say its a special?

would love to find out how much are left in the U.K and if mines was possible the last registered.

Cheers every one.

GTI arches on a Rallye! Can we have a picture?

My V5 also states its 'special' haha, I assume all Rallyes V5's say the same.

The V5 for my 92-K reg white one, said "Rallye S". The first few were on J reg.

Mine's on a J and the V5 says it's a Rallye S same as my old K plate one.

Never heard of an L plate one though. That's really late.

Dam no luck then with it saying special no different than anyone elses :D .

I know you could get the spoiler as an extra but I had resivations on the arches but im the 4th owner and the car wasnt molested till i got my mitts on it. :) .

The last owner said it was fitted when he bought it nearly 4 years ago.

I will get some pics at some point as i removed them to make it look like what i thought it should, but all the trims must have been on from new or a very long time as they have buffed lines in the paint .So they are going to get sprayed and re fitted it was that or a full spray. :(

Good to see another rallye in the area, dont suppose you picked that one up from westhills way, i only know of 1 other yellow rallyes kicking about up here. i have a white k plate rallye but is really only taken out before an event. One of my mates from stonehaven has the real mckoy french rallye and uses it for rallys. I have seen a couple L plates on ebay but whether there real is another thing. What plans have you got for your 205 rallye?

A number of people prefer the XS as the uk rallye was i think just a glorified XR (the word rallye helped sales) with better interior and came with stickers, the engine is a heavy iron block with only 75 hp.

I still like my rallye even though i have changed pretty much everything mechanically to make it a bit more rallye lol, its got a nice presence and its own bit of unique ness.

It sounds like a very late registered one. There was someone in the PSOOC Scottish group back in about 1997 who had a yellow one with a 309 bumper andthe GTI style arches.

Those arches are a specific non GTI kit that you could get as standard GTI arches will not fit. I think they are stick on too as opposed to held on by rivets.

Hey no I got it from a little village (if u could call it that) just passed forfar about 2 years ago. My first 205 was an xs 8 years ago loved it sure I still would of had it now but it decided it wanted to be a gymnast more. ;)

Love my rallye to bits it just puts a smile on my face every time im in her, not the fastest but can definatley go round corners

Plus its not common muck.(cough)jap crap.lol :)

Ive stripped every thing out of it ,have a SD half cage set of kevlar momo buckets (wich look awsome with a yellow car)

Koni adj on front and avo adj at the rear

Did have a 106 gti engine box loom and ecu but had to sell as i really have to pull my finger out with my gti

So the rallye wont be getting to much done. JUST NOW :(

What have you got done to your rallye?

Good to hear you like it.

I use my pug for the scottish sprint and hillclimb championship and is pretty punchy just now with it running on Throttle boddies. i am waiting for my head to come back from sandy but it was producing 110 Bhp on a slightly dodgy engine what i call my throw away bottom ends (newer silver top bottom block).

Dont suppose you still have any interior left, my class rules are changing and need to put back seats and some of the trim back in.

sounds good burr sorry bout the interior i had to put it in my old gti as i stole my buckets for the rallye out of it.

Thats good bhp impressive what else have you got done..heard throttle boddies are a bit of a pain to fit on these engines. Heard a lot about Sandy on hear. How much was the head to get sent down to him as my mi16 head will need some work was thinking QEP as wouldnt trust any one from round this neck of the woods.

Its ok, only other things was a manifold and dta ecu. Yeah matt from QEP is easy to deal with, i was only £20 for my local courier to take down. But yeah there anit really much pug engine building specialists this end of the woods. have you thought about competing with any of your pugs?

Iam thinking about it im in the middle of doing my mi build so going to build it to the msa spec just incase. is it easy enough to get in to. defo when its finished its going to knockhill as much as i can.

does sandy have a lot of experience with mi heads and bottom ends? herd a lot of good things about QEP. where did you get your car rolling roaded.

Have been thinking about bike carbing the rallye but herd there are lots of mods to the water pump and mounts. something for the future.

Its probably best to drop him a PM. i have dealt with QEP and have no complaints but never had engine work done by them,so cant say. i know someone in the class above me with a pug 205 gti 1649 cc (it was TU5J4 engine) which QEP did all his engine work and it won the class. it was dyno at QEP at 190 bhp, infact i think i have a link.

http://www.scottish-hillclimbing.co.uk/ (go to flatchat and have a look in the for sale section for 205 gti for sale)

I got it rolling roaded at DASTEK in endinburgh.

burr 2000 - I have a spare set of rallye back seats, and lots of spare interior trim that I could sell to for for cheap!

The only thing is that you are quite far away! Send me a PM if your interested!

Cheers

Rhys

cheers for the offer wallby.

If you could have a look for the rear seats i would appreciate it, i have noticed the 205s are getting rarer and rarer and not much come into scrappy.

Not sure where dave is from is but i could find out about the engine, yeah the car is still together so it is complete.
