Nice little setup you have going there.

What are you using to connect to the thermocouple out of interest?

i'm using an ad595cq thermocouple interface.

got 3 samples from analog devices.

my new ms-board will integrate some nice features i'll show you later.

the cable needed to configure is just annoying ;-)

and yes, just a breadboard, but my ms1-specialedition is already running, but before i'll go further i want to test everything intensively.

Mmmmm...

Socks and sandals. :P

Quite common on the continent it seems. All the continental lorry drivers seem to do it!

Still, damn funny though :P

Back on topic, some VAG cars use an EGT probe and have a suitable interface to the ECU - I know for certain that an Emerald can take an input from the VAG interface - Is your solution for elegant or cheaper than using the VAG one?

my interface costs about 20€ and can interface every k-type sensor.

it delivers a 0-5volt signal proportional to the temperature.

the most expensive part is the AD595, the rest are just small parts.

could not resist to test it ... did a quick setup at my desk, loaded the maps of my ms1 and went to the garage...

first check: idle stepper valve - passed! :-)

second check: ignition. ran smooth and nearly perfect - YES!

now its time for some whisky to celebrate ;-)

Looking good, a very sweat install, great work.

I did think about putting my MS into a 'ECU' box, but never got around to it. What I did do, and much happer about it was using a remote MAP sensor, so I didnt have to have that silly pipe running all the way to the ECU.

Note to self: Blag a couple AD595s....

Mad.

i'm planing to build an pcb with all that stuff on it so i dont have to use 3 pcbs. the first ecu was planned as an replacement for the stock m1.3, later i changed the engine to the xu10 with the marelli and wasted spark, so i had to improvise.

the ad595s are quite expensive... fortunately i got some samples :)
