It might take a while to get an answer (if ever) but Wayne @ Chipwizards could be able to help out if no one else can.

I have an ECU but no method of extracting the data from it.

Graham.

reading out the flash/eeprom is no big deal because i got equipment for that.

i asked several times here for a good basic ignition map for xu9/xu10, but i got no definite answer. tomorrow i'll put the megasquirt in for a test, but only temporarily... hopefully i get a good basic mapping. anyway, maybe i'll connect some headphones and try to hear the knock on my own.

That is very high peak advance you have there!!! want it to be more like 30-35deg advance max to start off.

Also on no load load (closed throttle/cruise) you usually have high advance to aid economy.

go to emerald m3dk load up the free software and load up an example map you'll get an idea what the ign map should shape like.

could this be possible?

whats normal advance for idle? maybe i should just incorporate an offset and recalculate the values.

finally got the ignition map, calculated the offset and factor from the mi16-bin, hopefully correct!

Good stuff - I've been dabbling with reverse engineering the maps from an HDi ECU ( Bosch EDC15) for a bit, so talk of offset and factor is strangly familiar!
