i managed to send the kids off to my mums today and thought i'd have a proper crack at getting my engine running.

i made a piston stopper to get 100% correct tdc and then marked up the crank pulley then marked some lines for 10degs btc etc.

then i set the trigger angle so it fired at 10degs btdc and all was good (with the plugs trigger angles the correct way round too which was strange??)

anyway no matter after a couple of turns she fires up and boy does she sound mean :D:lol::D

its idling very high atm but i'm like a pig in sh*te now woo hoo and to think i nearly gave up.

i will get some vids up later and show ya

now just gotta get the suspension rebuilt so i can pull the car out of the garage and hopefully not kill myself with the fumes

I would be interested to learn more about this.

I am doing a Megajolt on an MI16 at the moment and I could use something like this!

i got the idea from the ms forum but all it is is you take an old spark plug and break out the ceramic core and centre electrode then all i did was use a m6x80mm bolt and two nuts (one either end) and secure it through the centre of the broken plug.

then just put in no one plug hole and turn the crank in one direction until it stops and mark the pulley then turn it the other direction untilit stops and mark the pulley then half the distance between the marks and this it true tdc.

DONT leave the tool in the plug hole and try to turn it over though.

i'll get a pick posted later to help show you.

and yeah jimi one small step :D many more to go

btw the beam tube turned up this morning cheers looks good. its all go now.
