Carpet Colour In Late Gtis?

Recommended Posts

mike parsons

Hi all,

Just been comparing and contrasting GTIs on ebay and Pistonheads and got a querry over carpet colours:

This 1993 white GTi has a red carpet:

whilst this one has a grey:

Which is correct or could you get different options?

&

Is there a definitive list of colours for each year and paint colour?

As far as I know, all the very late GTi's have grey carpet and the different doorcards (that are similar to Phase 2 309 GTi's)

I agree - my late (93K) and my mates 92K have grey carpets.

I think they changed 1992 mostly on K plate but some late registered Js.

All red apart from LE's, late steel greys and sorrento's IMO. Perhaps some very late ones too as Ant says, parts bin specials getting rid of stock probably.

A completely shameless plug there Greg :)

I've just sold my Carlton and was just looking at 205's in general for a new 2nd car when I noticed the different carpet colours on very similar cars.

Had plenty of Bx 16valves in my time but never a 205, so was just wondering if I was missing something obvious or looking at a car that had an interior swap.

The one in your last link is how they should all be in Late K and L plate car's, all CAT models had that spec. Red carpets stoped on the Jetronic car's
