Pob 1 Posted August 1, 2009 Hi all, About 10 months ago I cleaned up the boot floor (Inside) treated it with rust inhibitor, zinc primer then painted with matt black paint. I've noticed rust has started to form around the whole where the bolt for the wheel carrier goes and a few other small arears. Any ideas what paint to use? I was thinking Hammerite smooth, would this be ok? I guess it would be more hard wearing and hopefully stops the rust coming through again. I'm going to get some carpet/sound deadening so it doesn't have to look amazing Thanks, Dan
GLPoomobile 958 Posted August 1, 2009 Try Bilt Hamber products. I haven't used them myself, but I bought various products that I'll use eventually, because I've heard nothing but good things about them.
EdCherry 34 1 Cars Posted August 1, 2009 Its only rusting because the bolt is wearing through the paintwork. Find a nylon washer to sit underneath the head and make sure the bolt is tight so it cant move.
Pob 1 Posted August 2, 2009 Its only rusting because the bolt is wearing through the paintwork. Find a nylon washer to sit underneath the head and make sure the bolt is tight so it cant move. I haven't got a spare wheel carrier fitted. I've got a rubber grommet in the hole, I would of thought it would have stopped it forming, obviously not. I've seen the Bilt Hamber products before, looks good stuff. Its not that rusty, a quick clean with some sand paper would do the trick. I just need something hardwearing and help prevent the rust forming again Many Thanks, Dan
