windscreen seal? I found my glovebox full of water and the passenger foot well flooded. I filled a couple of gaps in the windscreen seal with silicon and that sorted it.

Ed, if you've no trim in the car, get some food colouring, mix with water, then run it into one possible leak source point at a time and see if it appears at your place.

Good idea tom, will give that a go. Just a bit worried about that area at the minute will get some pictures of why later.

I had a bit in that area on my old gti and found that the bulkhead

to inner wing seal was partly missing and the water drizzled down.

Id say , if it's not coming from the top i.e. windscreen , then it's from the gap where the inner wing panels are spot welded together .. now i dunno how we call this area precisely so i'm gonna do what i usually do .. will stick a few pics  :

I've been welding this wing areas on both of my cars , this flat outer panel is spot welded to the inner wing and the gap sealed with the seam sealer .. which is often in cracked state .. :

note the top drain hole marked with red circles

.. so with a bit of rain and parking at an slight angle the water goes from the bulkhead top , from where it usually collects during the rainy day , down the drain passage past the seam sealed wing area till the bottom of the sill corner where it pours out ..

Try as Tom said , with the food colouring mix  park the car at an angle , lift up the floor carpet a bit and ask someone to pour the water mix (or simply stick a garden hose ..) into the bulkhead drain passage while you're looking down at this the precise spot if it will be leaking inside .. if the test appears to be positive then remove the wing and re-seal the panel gap ..
