marsy 0 Posted July 2, 2009 Does anyone know for certain if you can fix phase 2 front seatbelts to a phase 1 car? At the moment iv got a phase one belt on one side and a phase 2 on the other. The phase 2 belt is a pain to get right as when bolted in it doesnt seem to fit snug against the frame. I can pull the seatbelt all the way out but it wont retract back in at all. On my drivers side iv got a phase 1 seatbelt which does fit snug against the frame and i can pull the seat belt all the way out, but then it will only retract 3/4 of the way in, meaning i have to feed the remaining 1/4 of the belt back into it myself. Does this mean the belt is knackered? Thanks Matt.
jimistdt 1 Posted July 2, 2009 Well, it will fail an MOT like that, it has to retract itself. Place a wanted ad and grab yourself the belts and lock/release mech as a pair, there must be loads knocking about from all the cars with cages and harnesses.
