Metal Bar (strut? / Brace?) Between Front Bumper And Wheel?

Recommended Posts

jason7579

There is a metal bar that bolts on somewhere behind the front bumper that is about maybe 10" long and doesn't look to be doing much on my car. there is one each side. The O/S one has completely rusted through and is now not connected in the middle.

a: Do you know what I am talking about.

b: What are they for and what will happen if I don't replace it

c: What is it called as i want to put up a wanted thread for a new one and I couldn't find it on servicebox.

Thanks

a, yes

b, stops the bumper and wing flapping about and gives a little more structural rigidity to the wing.

a) I think so, in the wheel arch, yes?

b.) They are used for mounting the bumper.

c) Can't remember off the top of my head, but if no-one tells you before I get home (Still at work :( ) I'll find out for you.

Wow that was quick. Thanks for the help.

Its less than £10 according to servicebox so I'll be popping along to my local Peugeot dealer to pick up a shiny new one :-) Might as well check the other side while I'm at it.
