if i remember i gave the breakers yard 180 euro for 2 corsa B columns complete, and bought 5 exchange control units from hockley caus the other 3 were going into mk2 escorts...think each control unit worked out at 165 quid just days before they went up another 30 quid!

I am just about to start this bought the unit from the breakers for £30 and got adjuster from Harness Solutions will keep you updated with the progress. Hope to have it fitted next week.

I considered one of these for a while but in the end went for a Xsara VTS rack with a Saxo/106 electric PAS pump which works very well and is less effort to fit.

 

Running the same set up on mine and with the extra width I have on the front boy do you apprecaite it when the relay fails and you have no power steering. I could barely turn it at one corner at Harewood.

I don't fit the relay to track cars, I just wire it direct via a switch. This makes it more reliable and means you can use the PAS when pushing the car with the engine off.

My Dads doing one of these in his mk1 (golf) he's had a wee bit of difficulty fitting and mounting it and the pugs seem to have even more wiring rammed into that space so must be hard. Hoping it'll help him with his diff though :)

Haha, he's had to have ligaments taken out of his wrist so he needs it for sho! Little beast, only got a 1.3spi in it atm but hell it goes, We were both going to an auto test last year and cruising at 100... he was still pulling away!

Mines wired with a switched relay so I can use it with the engine on or off?! It's been 100% reliable just like I've found them to be as standard in 106/saxos.

You must be using some serious switches and cable. I was under the impression they can draw over 50amps under load?

indeed, or he has a potential fire risk :unsure: I know the 106/saxo Electric pump runs a 60 AMP fuse!

Sorry, I was pretty unclear. The pump is wired directly so it turns on and off with the kill switch.
