Laquering Over Celly

Recommended Posts

d-9

Ive got a few bits to paint on my 309 as its getting a bit tatty, decided its about time I learnt to spray metallic, so im going to give it a go :)

First stupid question...can I laquer over cellulose? Or is that a stupid thing to do? The guy in the paint shop said I should just spray it then polish it, but im a bit worried about the durability of that!

Spraying 2-pack isnt really an option as I dont have a spray booth or an airfed mask

I'm pretty sure that's no good for 2pak Matt? I was warned not to bother with the 2pak at all unless I had an airfed mask. I was told these things are only really suitable for celly etc

I use something similar to the mask matt posted a link to and I've done quite a bit of spraying over the years, the only problem I have with it is I end up with a sore throat where the mask rubs when I pull it down!

The colour will fade quicker with cellulose than it will with 2k as well.
