Rev Counter Signal

Recommended Posts

skinner2k3

Afternoon

I have enlisted the services of one of our electronics uber geeks to design me a shift light circuit.

We will be using the signal to the rev counter. He has asked me what the signal looks like and what amplitude. IE square wave 5v etc.

Any info anybody has on the tacho signal (or another which may work) would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ben

Sorry that would probably have helped.

Std 1900 GTI engine, on carbs. ECU disconnected.

As for the ignition, its the later dizzy, with the small square coil and ignition amp on the wing.

Cheers

The rev counter is still working, I assume its electronic (correct?) so there must be some sort of signal?

In the wire to the tacho there are two signals. Your geek will know what I'm talking about:

1. 12V square wave

2. 400V back emf
