After Some Info/advice/diagrams

Recommended Posts

basicaly i'm trying to minimise my loom (dash side)

the car is stripped and currently enginless so in this down time i thought i'd get the dash side of the car sorted. the other reason for doing this is that despite beings an electro-mechanical engineer by trade car electrics still scare me so this will force me to learn a bit more. anyone got any advice?

diagrams...

i have seen on here a good layout picture of the fuse board but searching hasnt found anything close, also, is the haynes manual correct? i have heard of mistakes, so are the diagrams in it all a-ok or are there fundimental problems using that to get rid of wires?

Cheers

Tim

ok, i've chopped some bits and bobs out and written down everything i took out. i plan to take out alot more than i have, i just need to get a better idea of what goes where and after a few hours of stareing at haynes diagrams i've had enough for the day, so, second question... how do the "pins" in the plugs come out? at the moment the wires are just bombtagged at the end and thats it where as i'd like to completly remove them.

all stereo wiring.

in a couple of plugs i removed there was a need to joing wires as there were two going to one pin but the pin was redundant, i presume this is becase the live is spured out. wires i joinged were:

27B - 32 red-red

13B - 13A white - white

16A - 15 (from what i can make out) grey - grey

any places i may have missed out, or any wires that i may have taken out that should probably stay in?

just wired that in on a toggle, i put it in on a separate switch, due to lack of dash there wasnt realy anywhere to mount the switch

hazzard wiring looked too much of a hassle to cut out so i left that in, i've now also cut out a fiar bit of rear loom too (boot light, wiper, locking,)

next job is finding which wire is the coil from the ignition
