Subframe And Exhaust Question

Recommended Posts

ORB

Ok, so my 205 has an MI16 in it with a full Mongoose Exhaust on it.

The Downpipe seems to be knocking on the subfraem near where the ARB runs.

See pic (picture stolen from forum @) )

you see the bar I mean, the cross bar to the rear of the frame.

Is this a common problem?

I notice that my mounts are looking a little tired, do you think that this would be enough to cause this?

Also, where is best to get mounts? Pug offered me Top mount for £24.06 and Gearbox mount for £18.55

Thanks

Could be the mounts getting a little tired, try some BBM Grp N mounts.

If it's a std manifold and D/P it will need to be shortened

Can I not just cut the bar out of the sub frame?

I could re-weld in a similar bar in a sligltly different place?

Hmm, the more I think about it, the more I think I am going to cut this bar out and re-weld it back in a different position.

If its the twin tube mongoose d/p I found they fit on Mi16s fine where standard d/ps need cutting.

Do it! Fit as straight a tube you can, though. This is not a particurlarly critical chassis component. Edited by Pär Hansson

But surely its there for a reason, reason being more strength and stability, to which the 205 is not famous for ?
