106 Gti High Engine Idle ?

Recommended Posts

205johnnyxsi

Hello just recently got a 106 gti ...

The problem i have is that on tick over it is idleing very high at about 2,500 rpm

Personally i think its the idle control value but not sure

Basically it is drawing to much air in making the idle rise to a high of 2500rpm

has anyone had this problem before is so what is it

there is no misfire so i doudt its going to be a air leak

another problem is my rev gauge and speedo does not work what could be the problem and where are the fuses, when it struggles to start the rev gauge moves

thanks could you let me no thanks again johnny

The high idle i would have thought would be as you said idle control valve or as i have had before a split seal on the MAP sensor which causes a slight air leak, doesnt tend to cause a misfire though.

Hope it helps
