Old Ford Electrics (capri)

My brother is in the middle of restoring a MK3 Capri. He is onto the electrics and is a bit stuck with the ignition barrel wiring.

There seems to be a red/blue/brown group of wires which connect to the dash wiring via a male/female plug and that is all fine.

However, there is a yellow wire coming off the barrel with a female connector, there is a male connector in the dash loom with a yellow wire, all connects up well. However the yellow dash wire doesn't actually go anywhere and looks as though it has been cut or snapped off of something, I think it's a 12v suplly wire but have no idea where it should go to.

Anyone got any experience with these cars or wiring (I am useless with elec's)

Thanks
