1.6 Beam

Recommended Posts

I know another beam thread :(

I am part way through removing my 1.6 beam and was wandering if there was a good way to 'block' the brake pipes to stop all the fluid draining out? The solid brake line goes all the way into the drum. The only thing I could think of is to get a g-clamp or the like and squish the brake line but that would permanently flatten it.

Any ideas??

Surely some kind of bung of a similar diameter would be ideal? Ducktape over the ends? Failing that a suitable container underneath the brake pipes and a new bottle of dot5?

you can clamp them at the flexi and it still wont leak out... just use proper brake flexi clamps or be very very careful with vice grips.....

O/T (sorry RobBBoi) can flexi clamps be safely used on braided hoses? Or would they be liable to cause damage?

I wouldn't use a clamp on braided as it will damage the braid.

yeah clamps on braided hoses = dead braided hoses. I have some female ends with the hole brazed up for the kinda thing!
