RobBBoi 0 Posted April 26, 2009 I know another beam thread I am part way through removing my 1.6 beam and was wandering if there was a good way to 'block' the brake pipes to stop all the fluid draining out? The solid brake line goes all the way into the drum. The only thing I could think of is to get a g-clamp or the like and squish the brake line but that would permanently flatten it. Any ideas?? Surely some kind of bung of a similar diameter would be ideal? Ducktape over the ends? Failing that a suitable container underneath the brake pipes and a new bottle of dot5? RobBBoi 0 Posted April 26, 2009 Thanks for the suggestion, but ive got it sorted now. Gonna swap the whole hub over, its only 4 hex bolts. Cheers anyway
BackStreetRacecars 3 Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) you can clamp them at the flexi and it still wont leak out... just use proper brake flexi clamps or be very very careful with vice grips..... Edited April 26, 2009 by BackStreetRacecars
Rupertfinch 6 Posted April 26, 2009 O/T (sorry RobBBoi) can flexi clamps be safely used on braided hoses? Or would they be liable to cause damage?
EdCherry 34 1 Cars Posted April 26, 2009 I wouldn't use a clamp on braided as it will damage the braid.
BackStreetRacecars 3 Posted April 26, 2009 yeah clamps on braided hoses = dead braided hoses. I have some female ends with the hole brazed up for the kinda thing!
