djinuk 2 Posted April 20, 2009 Just a general question with regards to cigarette lighter wiring. Basically my renault 5 wiring is butchered and without taking the full dash out will be impossible to sort. My fag lighter does not work and therefore i have no sat nav , if i put a positive and negative direct to the fag lighter (ill throw a fuse in also) should that in theory work.? im not amazing with electrics but could just do with hardwiring this in so i have a satnav for the time being. Atari Boy 11 Posted April 20, 2009 My fag lighter does not work either. As I am not great with electrics either. I fitted a new fag lighter straight from the battery (with in line fuse) to my glove box. It is a double outlet one and works great, only a few quid from eBay. HTH.
