Futre Measquirt Conversion

Changing to a megasquirt ecu soon and want a 60-2 flywheel that is as close as possible weight wise to a 1.6 gti.

 

Now the question is which flywheel?

 

A. mi16 flywheel. How much heavier is it than a 1.6?

 

B.406 1.8 16v is it the same as above or less?

 

Any others that you helpfull chaps can suggest.

A, not sure, but the clutch is heavier.

 

B, my highly accurate IKEA bathroom scales suggest its in the region of 6.5 Kg.

 

I'd use the XU7 one if I was doing another 8 valve, I used an Mi16 one on my 1.9 MP3.1 as it's what came to hand with a clutch at the time, the XU7 one you can keep your original clutch if its servicable.
