Hid's And Melted Valeos

Recommended Posts

Just fitted some new Valeo headlights to the 205, really freshens up the old girls face. While I was in there, I fitted some HID's for a laugh and found that, while the light is nothing short of pure awesome, the Valeo headlights did get fairly interestingly hot. Sure looked good though.

Anyone fitted HID's succesfully?

My Hid's in my BMW seem colder than the oe bulbs.

Have you compared them to standard bulbs?

IIRC the HID's actualy give off less heat than standard bulbs.

Any motorfactors and yes they are depending on what 'K' kit you have.

Moved to correct section, hardly an XU engine service & maintenance topic.

I guess those with HID's have not had any problem with the inner silvering melting / dulling etc?

I think early HID's could dull perspex lenses.
