1.9 Gearbox + Clutch!

Hello all my gearbox has decided to let go!!! As the gearbox was out i was thinking of changing the clutch.

Does anyone know of any good OE clutches or any upgraded clutches??

Also any tips on how to make sure i am buying a proper 1.9 (hreg) gearbox???Any identification numbers??

 

Any help much apreciated!!

OE Valeo ones are pretty good tbh.

 

No numbers on the boxes to denote ratios i'm afraid no.

You can count the teeth on the final drive if you whip off the diff cover. Not sure of the numbers though.

No need to count the teeth - the FD ratio is stamped onto the crownwheel, in the form of (for example) 16 x 65. Divide the larger number by the smaller one, and that'll give you the FD ratio - in the example above, that's a 4.06, which is 1.6 GTi (amongst others)
