Engine Serial Number

where do i find the engine serial number on a 106 gti engine (tu5jp)

need it for the v5 form. iv had a gd look, and cant find it any where!

As you stand in front of the car and look at the engine, the number is etched onto a flat on the front of the block, top left corner. The breather pipe from the bottom of the block runs over in front of it. You may need to wipe the area clean to be able to see the number!!

Find where the block ends and the cylinder head starts and look behind the pipe

Yep, see the metal breather pipe there? Thats where the engine number is, at the top of the block
